Hi all,
Will's condition hasn't changed which is good. Every day they're performing several tests and they now know that his left heart chamber isn't working. His right heart chamber is working though it has fluids around it which puts pressure on the heart. They've inserted a drain to be able to remove the fluid which will be done today by a surgeon. Now and then they decrease the sedation to the point that he's awake enough to be able to perform simple tasks. For example, they ask him to wiggle his toes, squeeze in the doctors hand, open his eyes, stick out his tongue, etc. When asked if he has pain he's able to answer yes or no by shaking his head. Will is performing these tasks very well which is very positive. From Marianne, the boys and all of us, thank you all for your kind words and please keep sending Will positive brain power.

Hello again everyone,
We haven't had a chance to see a doctor but the nurse looking after Willy was able to talk. At the moment there have been no new changes, but as she said no news is good news. As of this moment they're still wanting to give the heart a chance to rest, which is why no decisions are made until after 72 hours, after the initial attack. His heart rate is fluctuating between a slow and fast rate, but this is normal. For now we can only wait until that 72 hour mark has passed and if no major issues erupt before that time that is a good sign. Let us hope that no issue occur before then.

Latest Updates
Family, Friends,
Will's condition is still critical at this moment. His heart is still failing to work by itself though a tiny bit of activity of the heart muscle has been recorded, which is a positive sign. They will keep him on the current life support configuration as long as there's any progress. Hopefully, this progress will continue. When the situation doesn't improve in a maximum of 5/7 days, a plan B has already been prepared today: Heart Transplantation. In this case he will get an external device to keep all vital functions going while waiting for a donor heart. Again, we're not at that stage yet, let's all send him positive brainpower to help him recover from this. We're counting on you. This blog will be updated twice a day.

Hello Everyone,
Yesterday morning, September 7th, Willy, had a severe heart attack and is now currently in the hospital on life support in critical condition. They're trying to determine whether or not the heart is strong enough to eventually resume it's role. For now they're giving the heart 72 hours to rest and rebuild itself. After that point they will attempt to see if the heart can handle any work/stress. Since we have to wait till that can be done no further news or information can be provided. This message page has been put together to keep everyone informed and will be updated, twice a day. We request that everyone please try to avoid calling to get more details for at this time it is difficult to keep up with everyone separately. Thank you.
